Drying Techniques for Your Raw Hair Wigs & Extensions

So, you’ve washed your raw hair wig and it’s looking very clean. Now comes the drying process, which is a potential minefield for heat damage. There’s no need to panic though, because there are ways to dry your wig without hurting its luscious strands.

Air Drying – The OG Method:

Let’s be honest, air drying is the healthiest option for any hair, raw or otherwise. Simply place your wig on a wig stand or lay it flat on a towel in a well-ventilated area.
While air drying is gentle, it can also take a while. But hey, think of it as an opportunity to catch up on that Netflix show everyone’s been raving about!

Low Heat Drying:

Heat can be a frenemy. But if time is of the essence, you can use a blow dryer on the lowest heat setting. Always remember though, that heat is still heat. So use it sparingly and keep the dryer at least 12 inches away from the hair.

Pro tip: always use a heat protector before applying heat to the hair

Diffuser:

A diffuser attachment helps disperse the heat evenly, minimizing damage. Flip your wig upside down and gently scrunch the hair with the diffuser to encourage natural waves or curls.

Always finish drying with a cool shot to seal the hair cuticle and add shine.

Remember, the key is to be gentle. By treating your raw hair wig with care during the drying process, you’ll ensure it retains its bounce and beautiful texture.
