Meet Our Founder: Xaxa
The Visionary Behind Hair Envy
Our founder, Xaxa, is the heart and soul of Hair Envy. Her life journey is intricately woven into our brand’s story. With a deep connection to the world of hair and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Xaxa is the driving force behind our mission.
Growing up as the youngest of eight girls in a family of ten children, Xaxa experienced firsthand the profound significance of hair in the lives of black women. Sundays were dedicated to learning the art of hair care from her mother, sisters, and aunties.
Yet, this joyous experience came with a challenge – the arduous and often disappointing process of sourcing the right tools, quality hair extensions, and reliable materials, leading to extended salon visits and overall dissatisfaction.
Determined to transform this aspect of black culture, Xaxa embarked
on a mission. Over two decades, she merged her academic accomplishments, including a BSc in economics from Oxford Brookes University and an MSc in international public policy from the University College London, with her passion for hair.
Her professional journey includes consulting roles at esteemed organizations such as the UN, Oracle Software, and PwC, while accumulating over 15 years of expertise in human hair extensions.
